WEBSITE DEVELOPMENT PROCESS

We describe below an outline of the (static) website design and development process.

A website is developed with an objective in mind. Therefore, web development starts with a clear understanding of the purpose of the website, what it should contain, how it should interface with existing systems (if any) and how it's effectiveness will be measured.

This step includes defining the target audience, understanding their needs and wants, ensuring that the contents of the website will be relevant to their needs and wants, and ensuring that the web development will consider the lingo of the target audience.

The output of the above step is a documented requirement specification.

When the requirement specification is completed and agreed upon, web design can begin. This includes gathering the information (text, charts, images, etc as required) for the website and organizing them into separate web pages.

For our part, we will build a prototype of the website, including web template design, text layouts, etc.

The next step of the website development process is to agree on keywords for each web page, depending on the actual text that is to be included in the web pages. We will help in the keyword selection process by researching and analyzing possible keywords and, based on this, we will present our suggested keywords and we may suggest changes to the text, taking the keywords into consideration.

Actual coding can begin when keywords, content and layout have been finalized.
